Calling all volunteers: Sugar skull schedule

PA26006015

As you may know, we will be busy this week making sugar skulls with all the Dual Language classes.  Though it is possible for me to do it alone, it would be much nicer to have some extra hands.  A few parents have already offered to help (thank you!!) but it would be great to have a few more.  Here is the schedule.   Let me know if any of these time slots work for you.  The slots with an asterisk (*) already have a volunteer assisting.

Here is the schedule for next week:
>
> Monday
> 8:30-Galvan/Calo
> 9:30-Castillo
> 12:30-Dastur and the whole 2nd grade*
>
> Tuesday
> 8:30-Telona
> 9:30-Leyva*
> 10:20-Lopez
>
> Wednesday
> 8:30 either Bergstrom or Rawn
> 11:00-Sandoval
> 12- afternoon DL Pre-K*
> 1:30-Sanchez*
>
> Thursday
> 8:30-either Bergstrom or Rawn
> 9:30-(maybe Brandick)*
> 10:45-Ramirez
> 1:30-Meiojas*

If you are interesting in helping out, either leave a comment here or leave your name, contact info, and time slot with the front office. Thank you in advance for your help and participation.

Upcoming classroom activity: Making sugar skulls for dia de los muertos

j0438361

Dia de Los Muertos is just around the corner and we will be continuing our annual tradition of making sugar skulls with the kids.  Each Dual Language classroom assembles their own altar and adds whatever items inspire them.  The skulls make a wonderful addition.

During the week of October 25-29, all eleven classrooms will be creating their very own skulls.  We would love to have a few extra parents around to help out.  It’s a little messy but a lot of fun!

Contact your child’s teacher if interested.

GV Dual Language Program Celebrates El Dia De Los Muertos

The students have all made altars in their classrooms, and today they all walked from room to room with their teachers to see them all

They're an amazing way for each class to be creative and recognize people in their lives who have passed away.
